Ella's Guiding Principals
1. I have the opportunity and the responsibility to define my character and create a life that I am proud of.
2. No matter the external circumstances, I am in control of my reactions and decisions. I am in control of my mental state.
3. Everything is temporary. Things arise, things change, things pass away.
4. By nature of being human, I am a social being. I am meant to live in community, to help others, and to be kind.
5. I treat all people with the same inherent respect. I never looking down on anyone as an inferior, and I never idolize anyone as more than a fallible human being.
6. I choose to strive towards progress, I aim to be a stronger person than I was yesterday.
7. Hedonism is not the path to happiness. The more I get, the more I want. I will never be satisfied unless I choose to be, exactly where I am.
8. Knowledge begins at the acknowledgement of ignorance. I embrace being a beginner.
9. I do not ignore or run away from problems. I fix them. The dragon is manageable, even cute when it is small, but it will grow to be big, scary, and unimaginably difficult to defeat.
10. I strive to work hard, but at the end of the day, I look at everything I have, I look at the beauty of life, and I choose to really really enjoy it.
Be Thankful
Be thankful that you don't already have everything you desire,
If you did, what would there be to look forward to?
Be thankful that you don't know something
For it gives you the opportunity to learn.
Be thankful for the difficult times.
During those times you grow.
Be thankful for your limitations
Because they give you opportunities for improvement.
Be thankful for each new challenge
Because it will build your strength and character.
Be thankful for your mistakes
They will teach you valuable lessons.
Be thankful for when you are tired and weary
Because it means you've made a difference.
It is easy to be thankful for the good things.
A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who are
also thankful for the setbacks.
GRATITUDE can turn a negative in to a positive.
Find a way to be thankful for your troubles
They can become your blessings.
